His journal takes him back to his drama school days in 1994 north London - a time of reading. nTim became a regular on the sitcom Upstart Crow in 2016 as Christopher Marlowe, and two years later played recurring, real-life historical character Governor William Tryan in popular history sci-fi series, Outlander. Actor Tim Downie, the star of Paddington and Outlander, leafs through the pages of his childhood diary. The following year he joined funny woman Miranda Hart on her sitcom Miranda. In 2011 the talented actor appeared in comedy This Is Jinsy which was nominated for Best Sketch Show at the British Comedy Awards.Ģ012 was a big year, seeing Tim star in the blockbuster musical, Les Misérables, and ending off with Tim taking on the role of Danny Bear in the hilarious dry British comedy, Toast of London, a character he played for three years.

He worked on Academy-award winning movie The King’s Speech in 2010 alongside acting legend Colin Firth, as Duke Gloucester. In 2008 Tim’s first theatre piece, The Dead Moon, was commissioned and toured the UK.

In 1996 he appeared alongside James Corden on children’s sitcom, Out of Tune, and in 1998 starred as Sam Smallwood on British soap Hollyoaks.Ģ002 saw Tim land a major role on BBC’s Doctors as Alex North, a role he held for 112 episodes.
Hailing from Hertfordshire, Tim attended the Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts and made his television debut in 1994 on long-running police procedural, The Bill.
